Wayfarers is a setting-agnostic tabletop RPG. It aims to give players wide expression and customization through simple options, with about the same ease of play as D&D.
Wayfarers puts characters through physical, mental and moral trials. The goal is for them to grow in meaningful ways, not to break them.
This wiki holds everything from the Wayfarers Master Document V01 and the Wayfarers additional info notes, broken into linked pages. It lives in a Git repository, so anyone with access can edit pages directly or ask Claude to do it. See How to Contribute.
Where to start
- Want to contribute? Start with Getting Started.
- New to the game? Read the Mission Statement and Design Philosophy, then Tiers and Scenes.
- Making a character? Follow Character Creation Steps, then choose a lineage from Lineages and a class from Classes.
- Running a game? See Running the Game and Combat.
- Working on the design? The Roadmap lays out eight phases to a finished game, with checklists; Roadmap Progress shows how far each phase has come. Open Questions collects every unresolved design decision from across the wiki.
