Role: Paragon · Resource: Scripts
Previously the Wizard, the Arcanist is the quintessential arcane caster. Arcanists are scribes and scholars who seek to understand the fabric and mechanics of the arcane. They have much more freedom when casting spells of their specialty, and can store spells for later use.
Primary abilities, class dice and proficiencies are still blank.

Subclasses
Curriculum or Academy?
Chapter 4 uses Curriculum of the ___, each pairing two classic schools:
- Mesmer (illusion, enchantment)
- Spellwarper (transmutation, conjuration)
- Seer / Fateweaver (divination, necromancy)
- Warmage (abjuration, evocation)
The later roles list uses Academy of the ___:
- War Wizard
- [Ritualist]
- Spellwarper (Dread Necromancer / Halruaan Elder / Pale Master / War Weaver)
- Seer (Divine Oracle / Chronurgy / Unseen Seer / Malconvoker)
- Mesmer (Mindbender / Shadowcraft Mage / Nightmare Spinner)
Mesmer notes. Creating and shattering illusions. Shattering causes enemies to be dazed and/or slowed. Clones and phantasms: clones have 1 HP and can deal damage; phantasms are illusions that disappear if swung at or figured out.
Spell Secrets damage types
Cold and electric aren’t on the Damage Types list, which uses Ice and Electric.
Expansion subclasses (listed as "Wizard")
